<p>The Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) set the record straight on the issuing of tickets for the Colombo Lotus Tower, after a post on social media went viral last evening stating Chinese nationals and politicians will be allowed to enter the facility for free.</p> <p>The viral post showcased a picture of a ticket to the Lotus Tower under the SLTDA where contents were in English, Sinhala, and Chinese languages, leaving out Tamil, which is a national language in Sri Lanka.</p> <p>It stated that children under the ages of five, members of Parliament, and Chinese nationals do not need to purchase tickets.</p><center><a href="https://www.hi.lk/himag" target="_blank"><img src="https://bmkltsly13vb.compat.objectstorage.ap-singapore-1.oraclecloud.com/cdn.sg.dailymirror.lk/assets/uploads/advr_7fec3b236e.jpg" /></a></p></center> <p>SLTDTA took to Twitter to set the record straight, affirming the picture of the ticket that is being shared is fake.</p> <p>&ldquo;As of now the Lotus Tower does not fall under the purview of the SLTDA and SLTDA has not issued or will not issue any tickets to the public to visit the Lotus Tower, which falls under the purview of The Lotus Tower Management Company Pvt Ltd. #SLnews #lka #LotusTower #lknews,&rdquo; the agency said.</p> <p>Meanwhile, the Chinese Embassy in Sri Lanka too verified the entry tickets shared are fake, and quipped the post has helped to promote the Colombo Lotus Tower that will open its doors to the public from tomorrow.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p></p>
