Bids adieus after 40 years of flying

Utpala Kumarasinghe, the most senior pilot of SriLankan Airlines, who has completed over 40 years of service, retired from his distinguished service. The aircraft which he commandeered for the last time in his career as a senior pilot, touched down at the Katunayake Airport last afternoon.

40 years of service is something to appreciate. In many families, sons take up father's profession when they grow up. That is normal and has nothing to do with Rajapakshas.

Get a grip man. Don't insult these professionals who are highly skilled and competent . Just be proud that we have a Sri lankan pilot who served his country for 40 years and have set the example to the next generation, unlike thousands who have got the best from our education and went in search of greener pastures. Happy retirement and best wishes to the young pilot.
