Ahan continues batting prowess

Ahan Wickramasinghe continued his batting prowess as he cracked an unbeaten half ton in Kandy’s second innings against Jaffna in the four-day National Super League cricket tournament encounter played at the SSC ground.

Wickramasinghe, following his knock of 101 in the first innings, which was his second ton of the tournament, remained unbeaten on 51 made in 58 balls with four boundaries and a six, as Kandy ended day two on 172 for 6 with an overall lead of 192 runs.

In the morning session of play Jaffna resumed from their overnight score of 93 for 3, and helped by a knock of 129 by Janith Liyanage made a score of 245 in reply to Kandy’s score of 265 runs.

Meanwhile Avishka Fernando made 150, inclusive of 13 boundaries and a six, and was supported by Nisala Tharaka who chipped in with 85 for Colombo, who ended the day with a formidable score of 405 against Galle at the Sooriyawewa Stadium.
