Moragoda seeks Indian investments in transport sector

Sri Lankan High Commissioner to India Milinda Moragoda who met Indian Minister of Road Transport and Highways of India Nitin Gadkari in New Delhi sought Indian investments in the development of Sri Lanka’s transport sector, particularly electric mobility.  

 

A statement from the Sri Lankan mission said the High Commissioner requested the assistance of Minister Gadkari in sharing India’s experience in public-private partnerships in the highways sector with Sri Lanka.   


“He proposed to set up a platform through which this experience could be shared with the relevant stakeholders in Sri Lanka. He also suggested that Indian investors could be encouraged to positively look at investment opportunities in Sri Lanka’s infrastructure sector. Minister Gadkari expressed his support to these proposals.  

 



It is a body comprising companies such as Amazon, Apple, Booking.com, Expedia Group, Google, GoTo, Grab, LINE, LinkedIn, Meta, Rakuten, X and Yahoo.
