<h2><strong>The festival organised by the Nuwara Eliya MC will last till&nbsp; April 30</strong></h2> <p><strong><img src="https://bmkltsly13vb.compat.objectstorage.ap-singapore-1.oraclecloud.com/cdn.sg.dailymirror.lk/assets/uploads/image_c9020ae511.jpg" /></strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>A heavy influx of local and&nbsp; foreign tourists is expected to visit Nuwara Eliya during the festival</strong></li> </ul> <p><strong>By Shantha Chandrasiri&nbsp; &nbsp;</strong></p> <p>The Nuwara- Eliya April festival is scheduled to commence at&nbsp; 8.30 am today with Central Province Chief Minister Gamini Jayaratne and&nbsp; Nuwara Eliya District Secretary Nandana Galaboda as the chief guests.&nbsp; The festival organised by the Nuwara Eliya Municipal Council will last till&nbsp; April 30.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p><center><a href="https://www.hi.lk/himag" target="_blank"><img src="https://bmkltsly13vb.compat.objectstorage.ap-singapore-1.oraclecloud.com/cdn.sg.dailymirror.lk/assets/uploads/advr_7fec3b236e.jpg" /></a></p></center> <p>&nbsp;Municipal Commissioner Sujeewa Bodimanna said the festival&nbsp; would commence in a grand way with the march past of army, navy and&nbsp; police bands and school bands of 17 schools.&nbsp; &nbsp;</p> <p><br /> She said the festival would include motor races, horse&nbsp; races, boat races, sports competitions, musical shows, carnivals and&nbsp; several other special features.&nbsp; &nbsp;</p> <p><br /> Municipal Commissioner said a heavy influx of local and&nbsp; foreign tourists is expected to visit Nuwara Eliya during the festival this&nbsp; year and that steps has been taken to provide them with adequate facilities&nbsp; and protection.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p></p>
